What to do Sunday June 27
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Let’s take a look at what to do in our area on Sunday June 27th.
The Tupper Lake Paddling Invitational takes place the weekend of June 27. It’s part of their month-long paddling festival.
The event will take place at Riverfront Park in downtown Saranac Lake. This festival will feature activities such as races, boat demonstrations and more. There will be a variety of races such as 3 mile, kids’ run, 10 mile, war canoe race and a family run.
There will even be a gear swap where you can buy or sell your boat or paddle gear. Sunday’s events start at 10 a.m. and will continue until 3 p.m. on June 27.
The city of Barre will unveil its recently renovated municipal swimming pool on Sunday, June 27. The city will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate starting at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 27. The community is invited to swim right after the ceremony. The event is free.
Amateur radio operators are hosting their annual Field Day weekend on June 26-27. This is a two-day event where amateur radio enthusiasts set up communication systems under emergency conditions. They are powered only by batteries and generators. This event will be like an emergency simulation to see how well they can communicate when most of the communication lines are down.
You can participate in the event on Sunday, June 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is located just off Mountain View Drive in Williston.
