Disc jockey and radio personality Robert “Bobby C” Campbell is hosting his fifth annual Franklin County Hams for Seniors TRIAD charity drive, with a donation deadline of April 6.
“The reason for this program is that families and friends of seniors share Easter dinner with them as (donors) provide the hams,” Campbell wrote in an email.
Campbell said the Franklin County Sheriff‘s Office TRIAD team will help deliver the “magnificent Carando hams” to seniors at five of the county’s senior centers the week before Easter.
Those interested in contributing can donate $25 per ham by check payable to Bobby Campbell, PO Box 21, Bernardston, MA 01337, with “TRIAD Hams for Seniors” in the memo line.
“Our goal is to provide hams to 300 seniors this Easter, and with the help of our community, we hope to be able to achieve that goal this year,” Campbell said.
Previously, hams were distributed for Christmas. Campbell said last year he decided to make the Easter distribution because the number of COVID-19 cases was much higher during the previous holiday season. He also said that since TRIAD delivered turkeys to seniors before Thanksgiving, he didn’t want them to have to do the same with hams a month later.
