Passenger tries to open door on Spirit Flight – NBC Los Angeles

A Spirit Airlines plane bound for Los Angeles was diverted to Denver on Wednesday when a passenger apparently attempted to open an exit door during the flight.

Video of another passenger on Spirit Airlines Flight 185 showed passengers and crew holding the man near the exit door. A passenger, who asked not to be identified, told NBCLA the man came out of the toilet shirtless and tried to open the exit door.

Video later showed the man being held in a seat by another man.

Authorities removed the passenger from the departing Cleveland, Denver plane. The flight continued to Los Angeles International Airport after a delay and arrived after midnight.

In another video, the same passenger is shown on a stretcher carried by paramedics inside the Denver airport. The paramedics were accompanied by a person in Transportation Security Administration uniform.

The identity of the passenger was not immediately available. Further details on what led to the in-flight disruption were not immediately available.
