Cars Cops and Coffee Fundraising
Several events are planned in the Mother Lode. This Thursday evening, June 23, Murphys School of Music, a non-profit organization that offers music, dance and acting lessons to all ages in the form of lessons and private lessons, is hosting a Summer student showcase. The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. at Camps Restaurant at Angels Camp. The details are here. Residential care at the foot of the Sierra is hosting a drive-thru pasta night on Friday. The Peaceful Valley Farmers Market is 4 p.m. Friday until dusk and the Farmers Market at Angels Camp in Utica Park is Friday 5 p.m. The Sonora Certified Farmers Market opens at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday mornings.
Adventist Health Sonora welcomes the community this weekend to Cars, Cops and Coffee, Saturday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Health Pavilion and Diana J. White Cancer Institute (900 Mono Way in Sonora). This free, family-friendly event will include a car show, live music, specialty coffee and donuts, photo ops with Sonora Police Department officers, and more. All funds raised will benefit the Cancer Patient Support Fund, which helps local cancer patients with unmet financial needs not covered by health insurance, including transportation, groceries, bills utilities, drug co-payment, etc. More details in the list of events here.
The Tuolumne County Amateur Radio and Electronics Society (TCARES) will be at the Mi-Wuk Fire Station to participate in the annual radio contest to establish as many contacts of amateur radio operators (Hams) in across the county over a 24-hour period using only backup power. The details are here.
At Eproson Park at Twain Harte Concert in the Pines on Saturday night will feature Agent’s music paying homage to some of the greatest classic rock hits of the 70s and 80s.
Saturday at 6 p.m., attend the Vegetation Ordinance Public Meeting at the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors chambers.
On Saturday, the Tuolumne County Historical Society will welcome back members and visitors for the reopening of the Sonora Museum. There will be a dedication and memorial ceremony in the courtyard for Angela Guissi Brown’s latest project which will be dedicated to her memory, details are here.

Sunday at Sonora Action Sports Park, it’s Sonora Skate Park for a BMX contest and a big air contest. Registrations are made on the day of the competition from 9am. There will be food and raffles throughout the day, as detailed here.
If you plan to visit Tuolumne Meadows or drive the Tioga Road, be prepared for roadwork. Expect delays and in some places you will be driving on a dirt road. Please note that not all car parks are open. Expect delays of 30-60 minutes and while waiting for the pilot car, do not venture too far from your vehicle.
Fireworks are illegal in Pinecrest and all areas of Stanislaus National Forest and Tuolumne County.
