Hurricane Sam 2021 Trajectory LIVE

A ROBOTIC surfboard created by Salindrone captured incredible images of the interior of Hurricane Sam at Category 4 status.
âSaildrone goes where no research vessel has ever been, sailing right in the eye of the hurricane, collecting data that will transform our understanding of these powerful storms,â said Richard Jenkins, Founder and CEO of Saildrone .
âUsing the data collected by the saildrones, we plan to improve forecast models that predict rapid intensification of hurricanes,â said Greg Foltz, a NOAA scientist.
The storm, which is the 18th nominee of the season, became a Category 4 on Sunday and briefly weakened to a Category 3 on Monday before reverting to a 4 on Tuesday and maintaining that status until Thursday.
Sam turned into a hurricane shortly before 5 a.m. on Friday morning and is expected to pose no threat to land other than backwash on the US east coast as Bermuda has issued a tropical storm warning.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Victor has formed southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, far from land, and is expected to become a minimal hurricane on Friday evening before dissipating into the central Atlantic Ocean, the center said. hurricanes.

WHAT IS SALINDRONE?
Salindrone is the company behind the first drone images of the interior of a hurricane eye.
The Washington Post describes âSaildrone is a company that manufactures probes that collect ocean data for use in environmental studies.
âSaildrones come in three different sizes and can be fitted with devices to measure weather and ocean conditions, map the seabed and even track ‘biomass’ or fish and other organisms that live in the waters. “

PURPOSE OF THE DRONE
In a statement released yesterday, Salindrome released “the first video footage collected by an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) from inside a major hurricane crossing the Atlantic Ocean.”
“New data from saildrones and other unmanned systems that NOAA uses will help us better predict the forces driving hurricanes and be able to warn communities sooner,” said Greg Foltz, scientist at the hurricane. NOAA.

WORLD’S FIRST VIDEO FROM INSIDE THE HURRICANE
âSaildrone Inc. and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have released the first video footage collected by an Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) from inside a major hurricane crossing the Atlantic Ocean,â Saildrone said. in its press release.
“The Saildrone Explorer SD 1045 was steered through the midst of Hurricane Sam, which is currently on a track that will fortunately miss the east coast of the United States. The SD 1045 battles waves of 50 feet and more winds. speed of 120 mph to collect critical scientific data and, in the process, gives us a whole new vision of one of Earth’s most destructive forces. “

WHERE IS HURRICANE SAM GOING?
Hurricane Sam is slowly moving northwest through the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Weather Network meteorologist Dr Doug Gillham said: âThere is a growing belief that Sam will follow too far southeast of Newfoundland to have a direct impact on an area other than very rough seas.
“However, it is still early days to completely rule out a trail closer to the Newfoundland coast early next week, so we will continue to monitor Sam closely.”
