Free Amateur Radio Course Starts September 12

The Humboldt Amateur Radio Club offers a course to prepare students for the Amateur Radio Technician license exam.
The technician class license is the entry-level license for amateur radio.
The course is free and open to all members of the community.
This class will be a hybrid class, meeting via Zoom and in person at the Humboldt Bay Fire Training Room, 3030 L Street in Eureka.
The class will meet for 9 Mondays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. beginning Monday, September 12 and ending November 14. There will be no class reunion on Halloween, October 31.
The course will cover the basics of radio and electronics, tips on operating station equipment, procedures for communicating with other radio amateurs, licensing and operating regulations, and safety radio.
After class, the FCC license test is scheduled for Saturday, November 19 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fortuna Fire Department, 320 South Fortuna Boulevard in Fortuna.
