Emergency Drill of the Day on Amateur Radio Field June 26-27

Local amateur radio operators will represent our community at the annual American Radio Relay League Field Day. Each June, more than 40,000 hams across North America set up temporary transmission stations in public places to demonstrate the science, skills and service of amateur radio to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach and technical skills in one event.
The local effort will include hams from the Daytona Beach Amateur Radio Association, Flagler Emergency Communications Association and Flagler Palm Coast Amateur Radio Club who will meet at the Hammock Community Center, 79 Mala Compra Road, Palm Coast, Florida 32137 to operate several radio amateurs. stations for 24 hours from 2 p.m. Saturday June 26.
The public is invited to visit this local daytime site to learn more about amateur radio, local clubs and hams in our own neighborhoods. It will be possible to operate radios under the supervision of Radio Amateurs approved by the Federal Communications Commission. This event is free and no prior arrangement is necessary.
