Dennis Michael Levy, 79, died on August 21, 2021 in Prescott, Arizona. Dennis was born to Ethel and Samuel Levy on October 28, 1941 in Los Angeles, California.
Dennis served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967. He met his wife, Merle, on a blind date, and they married in 1967. In 1976, Dennis transferred his job in Santa Barbara to escape the smog of Los Angeles. The family settled in Goleta, California, where they remained for almost 30 years. Dennis worked for Xerox until his retirement in 1994. In 2004, Dennis and Merle moved to Chino Valley, AZ for their retirement years.
Dennis’ various hobbies included target shooting, collecting guns and knives, and amateur radio. Dennis will be remembered for his wit and dry sense of humor which included frequent jokes and the wearing of funny t-shirts. He devoted the last years of his life to caring for Merle for which his children are deeply grateful to him.
Dennis is survived by his son Alan Levy (Lisa) with whom he shared his birthday, his daughter Helen Goldman (David) and his grandson Mason. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Merle, his parents and his older sister Arlyne. Her older sister, Marlyne, died just two days after her passing.
A private service with immediate family was held August 26, 2021 at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.
