Babcock International celebrates two awards won at the Maritime UK Awards

Babcock’s Liquid Gas Equipment (LGE) business and Cavendish Nuclear celebrate two awards at this year’s Maritime UK Awards.
Kat Tanner won the Electrical Design Apprentice award for Cavendish Nuclear in the Apprentice of the Year category, while Babcock took home the Innovation Award.
The prestigious awards ceremony took place at the Glasgow Science Center on Thursday 10 March.
With the UK Government having launched its first long-term strategy for the sector, Maritime 2050, the awards ceremony was the perfect opportunity to highlight many of the projects being carried out in response to the strategy.
Celebrating her win as Apprentice of the Year, Kat said, “I’m thrilled to win this award. I was thrilled to be nominated, but winning this award is an honor. I really enjoy being part of the Cavendish Nuclear team and hope winning this award will inspire more young people, especially young women, to consider a career in the industry.
Babcock won the Innovation Award, recognizing the company’s advanced, environmentally-focused and engineering-focused fuel gas and cargo handling solutions for international shipyards and shipowners.
Over the past year, Babcock has successfully completed several projects in the innovative technology suite, including ecoFGSS® technology for the LPG fuel gas supply system and the first ecoETHN® system for the fuel supply system. fuel gas and the relic system aboard a new Ethane ship. Babcock LGE has an outstanding track record in developing and implementing innovative technologies for the market, is also expanding its customer base in the marine gas transportation market, establishing relationships with shipyards, shipowners and majors in global energy.
